Michael Curry made an impact in Nashville, helping the Commodores secure an NIT bid, the first postseason appearance since 2016-17. He played both for the NBA and overseas.
He was Assistant Head Coach with the Detroit Pistons for 1 season, after which he was promoted, at age 40, to be one of the youngest head coaches in history. He went on to serve as the Associate Head Coach for the 76ers from 2010-2013.
He was named Head Coach of Florida Atlantic in 2014 and guided them to a win for the first time against a Big 10 opponent, 79-77 over Ohio State.
He spent 6 of his 11 seasons with the Detroit Pistons, including 33 playoff games and a trip to the Eastern Conference finals.
He also had stints with the Pacers, Raptors, Bucs, Bullets, 76ers, and Kings. In 667 career NBA games, he totaled nearly 3000 points, 1000 rebounds, 800 assists and 333 steals.
He also played overseas in France, Spain, Italy, Belgium and Germany.
He’s currently the assistant basketball coach at Vanderbilt University.
